While staying at the Ranch House, Why not investigate the art of horse handling and riding.
Jack is both a student and trainer of Classical Riding and Horse Training and has a number of day students who both bring their own horses and use our Pelorus River Horses.We have horses to suit everyone, from young energetic hacks to older steadying trail horses.
We take great pride in selecting the correct horse for each rider, making sure the "mix" is just right.Jack is a professional horse starter and has a number of young horses under his supervision. He is always pleased to demonstrate his skills and will give lessons in horsemanship and horse handling as well as riding lessons.
Lessons of 30 minute duration cost nz$30.00 er person and usually are the starting point. Most pupils progress to 60 minute lessons quite quickly, (which cost $60.00 per person).
Lessons
can take the form of arena work, both in round pen and full sized dressage
arena, or in the form of a ride out which takes the student into the same
areas as our trail rides. All safety equipment is provided and full briefings
are provided prior to any tuition or trail ride.
